Add some rivalry between US and EU?
I have a suggestion to the Brooky Cup admin and bosses.
Today we have exactly 10 US teams and 10 European teams competing in the Brooky Cup.
But apart from some friendly teasing remarks about where the cup really belongs (!? surely it's in Europe...) we haven't really set up a real challenge between the US side and the EU side.
Now, with 20 teams, separated by a large pond between the continents, eaqually in numbers it would be great to have a "built-in" challenge in the run for the title.
Let's say that position 1 gives 20 points and the ultimate loser in this awesome cup earn 1 point. Then it would be quite easy for someone with economics or business school graduate to calculate which side that have the strongest all-together-strenght. I guess it would be the European side, but then again...who knows what the Presidents or the Wind have up their sleeves this season? ;-)
Anyone from the US side that would dare to accept such a challenge and also keep track of the standings during the cup play?
Or is this suggestion just too childish coming from a grown up man? :D
It would anyway mean that it could be worth the efforts for a team to fight for position 17 or 18 in the end just to give their US or EU team mates a chance to win this prestigeous pond war! :)
What do you think about this idea?
Good luck to ya all now!

Sounds like an excellent idea Claus. I dont think our American friends will be up for it though, they are bound to lose!!

Are you saying our esteemed American cousins are a big bunch of wimps? Surely not! ;)
Great idea Claus!
How about this as a model:
1st: 10pts
2nd: 8pts
3rd: 7pts
4th: 6pts
5th: 5pts
6th: 4pts
7th: 3pts
8th: 2pts
others: 1pt
I am not sure if there will be a das losers cup this season (given that there will be 12 'losers' this season).
Sounds like fun. Bring it on! Hey, does anybody remember the last time a Euro team won the Cup?

I believe my great grandfather once spoke of an ancestor of his that had heard of such a thing!
Shame that yours is the last generation that will have heard of an American team winning it ;P
Taking a look at last year's standings using Jeff's method and disregarding the non-qualifiers, we're looking at a European win last season. Though I think that the winning team should be a little more weighted to reflect the gravity of winning the b-cup and the runner-up slightly more than the rest. Take a look and my proposed method as the second number and you will see that USA actually won. Hmmmmm....
1. BFC 10 15
2. Tigers 8 10
3. Avs 7 8
4. KCU 6 7
5. Ratz 5 6
6 Stones 4 5
7. Sea Lane 3 4
8. Wind 2 3
Jeff's method (1st number)
Europe: 24
USA: 21
John's method (second number)
Europe: 27
USA: 29
Somehow... I prefer the first ;P
