The weekly match comments are here!

I have made a seperate section for the comments and will archive the pages after every season ;)

If you only use one link on this site then read Scotts commentaries... I laughed so hard I virtually wet myself!

Cheers, Scott :D

Separate Page

Hate to do it, but...

I think a separate page for the recaps would be far better if you think it wouldn't be too much trouble. The posting option isn't ideal, since the posts tend to get lost down the thread after only a few postings, and I think it would be more interesting to have one place to go back to in order to look at the whole archive. Let me know what you think.

Oops!

My bad, Scott. You were clear first time round, I guess I must have been suffering sleep deprivation or something ;)

*slaps self*

Better! Now...*cough*... the 8 qualifiers, so far, are, in order of ranking:

1) Sea Lane (USA) 1st 3pts +7gd (8 for)
2) Chocolate Thunder (USA) 1st 3pts +7gd (7 for)
3) FC Bonafide (USA) 1st 3pts +4gd
4) Dirty Ratz (ENG) 2nd 3pts +5gd
5) Ellwood (WAL) 2nd 3pts +1gd (6 for)
6) Skaningarnas ff (SWE) 2nd 3pts +1gd (2 for)
7) System 3loc (ENG) 3rd 0pts -1gd (5 for)
8) Bajen Avalanche (SWE) 3rd 0pts -1gd (1 for)

I have used, in order of importance;

Position in table
Points accrued
Goal difference
Goals scored for
Away goals

I hope this is now correct? *pleads* ;)

Scott please do simply post the recaps here... unless you specifically want a seperate page for them, if so then I will get right on it ;)

Urp...

I don't know, Scott. You are, after all, pretty scary.

Good lord. I have to print out the Group A page or something. This is probably the last time Bonafide will ever sit atop the group and likely as close as I will get to qualifying...

PLAYOFFS

Maybe I didn't make myself totally clear on the playoff format, but hopefully this should clarify:

There are going to be 8 teams, not 4, advancing to the Quarterfinal round during week 11. The top two teams automatically qualify, and there will be two wild-card teams who will advance on total points and goal differential. Week 11 will reduce those 8 teams to 4, and then the home-and-away legs will begin for semifinal and final round play.

Also, just to clarify one more point: we will be playing NORMAL, not Cup Rules for group play. We will go to Cup Rules only for playoff games.

I'll have recaps in a day or so. Jeff--should I forward to you or simply post them on the site like this?

Thanks again to Jeff for all his hard work. And where the hell are the rest of you? Post something, for God's sake, and add a team page. Don't be afraid.

Week 1 - Stats and Scores

The tables and statistics pages have been updated. l feel sure that Scott will grace the site with his majestic match reports when he has time ;)

I don't expect to be able to stay up this late in future as it is back to work next week :/ and Thursday is a bad day for me (working till gone 10pm) so I guess future update will be done by Saturday normally.

According to the rules laid down initially by Scott the four qualifiers for the semis, so far, are:

Sea Lane (USA) Group C Leader
Chocolate Thunder (USA) Group B Leader
FC Bonafide (USA) Group A Leader
Dirty Ratz (ENG) Highest Runner-Up

Looks like the Yanks have taken the early lead. C'mon Europe! :D

Welcome! :)

Hi Jay! For you and any other noobs (plus some olds :P), if you ht-mail me your email address I will invite you to join this board so you can make posts etc ;)

Also If you have a website or would like a webpage for your team then take a look at the existing ones and message me what you need doing (or, once a member, you can add the link yourself ;))

Phew! I think we may actually be ready to start... cheers for the hard work finding replacement teams chaps :)

This is going to be a great season... I can feel it ;)

NEW TEAM

Everyone welcome Jay Gonzalez, and his club Saltopus, to Group 3 play. Jay is a good friend of Matt Pell and I, and will be a great addition to the B-Cup.

Fixtures are now finalized, totally, no changes. Go ahead and get the matches set up.

Happy Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BROOKLYN INTERNATIONAL CUP INFORMATION MINISTER LAST YEAR'S CHAMPION AND ALL AROUND GOOD GUY JEFF BECK (huff, huff, huff)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

CHEERS!!!!

Access to my message board

I have updated Group C for the new swedish team (welcome aboard by the way!) and I have created a link to my team message board. On that board is a special section for brooklyn cup only (the mb isn't even on my site yet... it is brand new :)) On this board polls can be posted, don't know if we can do them here (I will look into it).

When you try to access the brooklyn cup message board you will be asked for a password. The password is the first word of Scott's team ;)

I think you will have full access to the board then... by all means sign up to the rest of the mb too ;)

Jeff

Is there a method by which we can post a ballot on the site?

Not quite yet

There has been yet another change to the Group 3 fixtures: Claus has come up with YET ANOTHER women's team to replace the team that is on the site now. The club GirlsTeam has been replaced by skaningarnas ff. It also appears likely that Sea Lane will not be able to participate this season, so I am in negotiations with another US side to replace them.

At this point, though, go ahead and set up your matches as posted on the site.

Let The Contest... Begin!

The fixtures are now the official fixture listings and so you can go ahead and challenge your opponents :)

If I remember correctly, the home team must lay down the challenge and all games are to be normal (ie not cup) league style games this season. Please correct me if I am wrong, someone! :)

Good luck to all!

Jeff Beck Rocks!

Sorry for the obvious joke...I couldn't help it.

As always, three cheers for Jeff for putting this whole thing together.

(Although I'm sure Claus will take credit for suggesting it...)

At Last!!!

Ok the new links are in place... can everyone check their team info for me please ;)

The listed fixtures are NOT official... they are just a prototype. The finalised fixtures will appear in that place soon.

Have fun with the site and post your feedback here. If you aint a member of this board yet then let me know your email addy so I can invite you.
